Feb 2012 - Pathfinder - Conquest of Steel campaign
Pitax is the capital of the Kingdom of Pitax.
Population: 4300, with additional 100-1000 tourists, traders or other foreigners visiting at any given time.
Despite the population of a “large town”, Pitax proper has the trade resources of a well-endowed small city.
Pitax is home to the world famous Academy of Grand Arts, a school for theater, music and other performing arts.
Pitax is “ruled” by a number of trading companies, merchant “lords” and guilds.
Here’s the top four:
House Irovetti (including a subsidiary: the Academy of Grand Arts)
Lucci, Lauro & Bastrap (the LLP)
Irovetti Family, Strocalle Family, Founders of the Academy of Grand Arts , Pitax Thieves Guild
Ibrolio family, Eliseo family, Paccarra family, Innocente family, Guiseppe family
House Irovetti has dominated Pitax for over a century. They retain sole rights to inspect trading caravans (through the Thieves Guild) and have the most direct influence over the Academy. They have hands in the pies of every industry, scam and organization in all the cities of Pitax.
The have extensive vineyards, only exceeded by the Quadrumvir Winepressers.
Lucci, Lauro & Bastrap (the LLP)
Cattanei Family, Lucci Family, Lauro & Bastrap
Cazzala family, Augurello family
LLP have members of the founding family of Pitax, the Cattanei.
Lauro & Bastrap are two famous individuals who pioneered the “Hobgoblin Root”, striking a deal with the Hobgoblins to create Hungerdark and the trade.
The LLP is a house resurgent – they have greater authority in Hungerdark and a long history of power in Pitax proper, through the Cattanei family.
The LLP have a manor house in Hungerdark, an ostentatious and impractical display of wealth. The house has been burned to the ground every time the Hobgoblins have razed Hungerdark, as well as under suspicious circumstances two other times.
Liacenza Family, Luchese Family
Michele family, Cas’Lefranco family,
Primarily dominant in Sarain and Pitax, has a very large number of foreign workers and fighters to protect and work the vineyards.
They have a long history of antagonism with the Raffaldinis and blame river piracy from them for a number of lost wine shipments.
Raffaldini Family, Pardo Family, Founders of the Grand Council of Fasci
Tasso Family, Carlo family
The only reason Mormouth still exists is because of House Raffaldinis focus. They are the most active bandits of Pitax in Numeria. The Pardo head up this side of things, while the Raffaldini are known for ship building, river piracy and act as Pitax’s Navy.
They’re the most lawful and community minded of all the houses (see the Grand Council of Fasci for details.)
Grand Council of Fasci
The council is an organizing body that provides most of the unprofitable public services in Pitax’s cities: sewer, water, docks and volunteer fire department. They also did the construction of the second and third Hungerdark and researched and implemented the “Song of Fasci” at Littletown. Raffaldini and Quadrumvir are constantly in competition for status in the council, while the Pitax-centered houses of LLP and Irovetti merely contribute the minimum of time and resources. The GCF also supervises the Navy, Guard and Army of Pitax.
